Every student loves to make crafts for real-world learning! Every child finds something that they enjoy.
Independent School of Thought values real-world experiences that promote self-sufficiency and self-sustainability. We have had garden and planted year-round. We planted peppers, tomatoes, strawberries, and more, all of which could be brought back to a student's house! This school year, we were forced to find a new location. At the last minute, we found a loving church that would let us hold our classes there. We have yet to re-establish a garden.
We encourage entrepreneurship by being a vendor at the the Hernando Farmer's Market and Cooper-Young Festival! The school sells produce, plants, and various all-natural homemade products like weed killer, insect repellent, body scrubs, and toilet refreshers. We also sell crafts such as jewelry, floral crowns, drawings, and other various items that students and their families produce.
